What are credits?
Credits are consumed when hosted tiers (Rough Draft, Director, and Executive) synthesize audio. One credit ≈ 10 characters of script text. Rough Draft includes 25,000 credits/month (≈ 250,000 characters — roughly a full feature-length script with room for retakes). Director includes 50,000 credits/month (≈ 500,000 characters — two to three full rewrites with takes). Executive includes 100,000 credits/month (≈ 1,000,000 characters — for readers and literary managers working across multiple scripts). Your balance refills at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits don't roll over.
What are director notes and delivery tags?
Director notes are per-line prompts that shape how a line is performed — think of them as stage directions for the voice. Inline delivery tags are bracketed cues embedded in the script text itself, like [sighs] or [laughs softly]. Both are available on Director and Executive plans.
Can I upgrade or downgrade later?
Yes. Subscription changes take effect at the next billing cycle. If you start on Rough Draft and later move to Director or Executive, you get the full directing toolkit from your next renewal date.
What happens if I run out of credits mid-month?
Synthesis pauses until your next billing cycle refills your balance. Your scripts, voices, and takes are all still there — you just can't generate new audio until credits are available. You can top up any time from Settings → Account — 10,000 credits for $5, 25,000 for $10, or 60,000 for $20. Top-up credits are added immediately and don't affect your subscription.
Is there a free trial?
Create an account and get 200 free credits with access to the full directing toolkit — no card required. Credits refill on a paid plan.
Can I buy more credits without upgrading?
Yes. Rough Draft, Director, and Executive subscribers can purchase credit top-ups any time from Settings → Account. Packs: 10,000 credits ($5), 25,000 credits ($10), 60,000 credits ($20). Credits are added to your balance immediately after purchase and don't roll over to the next billing cycle — they're drawn first before your monthly allocation.
Is there educational pricing?
